Stop terrorism

I've pointed out some of the mannequins before, I know.
This one, though, has a message about something other than fashion.

This small, plastic kid tied to a stool had a sign around his neck with descriptions of the suspects the police are searching for in connection with the bombing at the Delhi High Court.

This is what it says:
दिल्ली उच्चा न्यायालय में दिनांक 07-09-2011 को हुए बोम धमाके में संदिग्ध व्यक्ति जिनकी दिल्ली पोलिस को तलाश है
उम्र लगभग 26 साल, लम्बा, कद 5 फुट 9 इन्च
उम्र लगभग 50 साल, हल्की दाड़ी, रंग सॉवला मजबूत जिस्म
वालो में मांग निकले हुए

Have you seen them? The investigations are still happening.

I guess it's the shopkeeper's own small efforts at taking a stand against terrorism. I'm not sure how effective it is...
But it did catch my attention.

Chocolate commercial

My Hindi teacher informed me today that this was a good commercial to watch because it contained so many different verb tenses and a piece of Indian culture. She was disappointed to hear I had no tv.
But youtube is a wonder...

Guy requests a piece of chocolate.
Girl: Do I know you?
Guy he shakes his head.
Girl: Then...?
Guy: My mother told me that before starting anything auspicious, it is a must to have something sweet, so as to be successful in the task.
Girl: What auspicious work are you planning to do?
Guy: I was thinking to take you home.

Zombie eyes

What was I thinking?
Four hours of Hindi class every day? How can I maintain that pace?

I saw the back of this bus on my way to class today. The before and after look of an intensive Hindi language student.
The boy on the right looks fairly normal, but the girl student on the left has scary zombie eyes. Yes, it looks just as if she's been in four hours of language class.

In case you can't see the zombie-eyed look, here is a close up.

Oh sure, I'm learning things and all, and it's good to put time and effort into something as important as learning Hindi.
But I might have jumped in the deep end without being certain that I remember how to swim.
Oops.
Life preserver, please?
