Plastic wrapped luggage

This is what I like to have the people at the airport do to my luggage before I check it in at the airport.  It's kind of crazy to plasic wrap a suitcase, but I'm hoping it saves on the wear-and-tear that India-traveling has on my luggage.

Island airport

The Bali airport is built right out into the edge of the sea.
So when you come down to land, the water rushes up beneath you.

And suddenly there's the runway, out in the water.

It's a pretty cool thing to soar over the fishermen and feel like you're about to skim to a stop on water.

Birds in airports

There are birds in the airport.
And they are not afraid.
You can hear them all over in the rafters above.

They like to come down to the Cafe Coffee Day, though, and eat the crumbs. There was one who was even bold enough to land right on my table.
No fear whatsoever.

...I suppose I mention it because I have this strange idea that birds are supposed to live in trees...

Airport upgrade

I was appreciating some airport upgrades.
Like how the airport now has those gangway things so that you don't have to walk on the tarmac (or out in the cold). Or how there are all kinds of new budget airlines flying in and out (cheaper prices).

The military still hangs out on the tarmac, though.
I don't think that will be changing for quite some time.
